Abstract
We present Demosthenes, a corpus for argument mining in legal documents composed of 40 Court of Justice of the European Union decisions on fiscal state aid. Annotations cover argumentative elements, their types, and argument schemes. The experimental evaluation addresses four classification tasks using advanced language models and traditional classifiers.
